FAQs about
8 Days Classic Tour to Giza, Luxor, Aswan, Nile Cruise and Hurghada Highlights

What is the best time to visit Egypt?

The best time to visit Egypt is from October to April, when the weather is mild and pleasant. The peak season is from December to February, when the prices are higher and the attractions are more crowded. The summer months from May to September are very hot and dry, especially in Upper Egypt (Luxor and Aswan).

What are the visa requirements for Egypt?

Most visitors need a visa to enter Egypt, which can be obtained online (e-visa), on arrival at the airport, or from the Egyptian embassy or consulate in your country. The visa fee is $25 USD and the validity is 30 days. You need a valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity and a blank page for the visa stamp.

What are the health and safety precautions for Egypt?

You should consult your doctor before traveling to Egypt and get the recommended vaccinations, such as hepatitis A, typhoid, tetanus, and rabies. You should also bring your own medications and a first-aid kit. You should avoid drinking tap water and eating raw or uncooked food. You should also protect yourself from the sun and heat by wearing sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and light clothing. You should also be aware of the local customs and laws and respect the culture and religion of the people. You should avoid any political demonstrations or protests and follow the advice of your tour guide and the authorities.

What are the tipping and bargaining practices in Egypt?

Tipping is a common practice in Egypt and it is expected to tip your tour guide, driver, cruise staff, hotel staff, and anyone who provides you a service. The amount of the tip depends on the quality of the service and your satisfaction, but you can use the following as a guideline: $5-$10 USD per day for your tour guide, $3-$5 USD per day for your driver, $3-$5 USD per day for your cruise staff, and $1-$2 USD per day for your hotel staff. You can tip in Egyptian pounds or US dollars. Bargaining is also a common practice in Egypt and it is part of the culture and fun of shopping. You can bargain for souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, and other items at the markets and bazaars, but not at the fixed-price shops and restaurants. You can start by offering half or less of the initial price and then negotiate until you reach a fair price.
