Karnak Temple
Your day trip to Luxor from Aswan by car will start with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Aswan. You will travel by car through the scenic Nile Valley, passing by the ancient towns of Edfu and Kom Ombo. The driving time is about four hours, and you will have some stops along the way for refreshments and restrooms. Upon arrival in Luxor, you will meet your guide and driver, who will take you to your first destination: the Karnak Temple. This is the largest and most impressive religious complex in Egypt, and it was built over a period of 1,500 years by various pharaohs. You will see the magnificent Hypostyle Hall, the Obelisks of Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis III, the Sacred Lake, and the Avenue of the Sphinxes. Valley of the Kings

Colossi of Memnon
Next, you will see the Colossi of Memnon, the gigantic statues of Amenhotep III that once guarded his temple. These statues are about 18 meters high and weigh about 720 tons each. They are also known for producing a mysterious sound at dawn, which was believed to be the voice of Memnon, the son of Aurora and Tithonus in Greek mythology. After the Colossi of Memnon, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you will taste some of the traditional dishes of Egypt, such as koshari, falafel, and shawarma. You will also have the chance to try some of the local drinks, such as hibiscus tea, mint tea, or coffee.
