Karnak Temple
Your day trip to Luxor from Cairo by plane will start with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Cairo. You will be transferred to the airport, where you will board your flight to Luxor. The flight duration is about one hour, and you will enjoy the scenic views of the Nile and the desert along the way. Upon arrival in Luxor, you will meet your guide and driver, who will take you to your first destination: the Karnak Temple. This is the largest and most impressive religious complex in Egypt, and it was built over a period of 1,500 years by various pharaohs. You will see the magnificent Hypostyle Hall, the Obelisks of Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis III, the Sacred Lake, and the Avenue of the Sphinxes. They are also known for producing a mysterious sound at dawn, which was believed to be the voice of Memnon, the son of Aurora and Tithonus in Greek mythology. After the Colossi of Memnon, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you will taste some of the traditional dishes of Egypt, such as koshari, falafel, and shawarma.
